Cell, By Stephen KIng

An avid reader of Stephen King all my life, I have not been a fan of all of his works, yet with Cell he captured my attention from the very first words.  The details which draw you in are so well written that the world around you fades from your consciousness leaving you in the company of the characters of this book, and great company they are.  The subtle hints at the technologies we are slave to have you relating to the tale on many levels.  Prejudice has no place in this post apocalyptic world where each must do as they must to survive.  Join me in this world which has you cheering for for the underdog, and let us hope that we get more of the same from the author. Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone, By J.K. Rowling

I would be remiss if I did not write about this book.  The first time I read this book I was drawn in from the first words.  The characters are so well developed that you feel yourself drawn into their world the moment they step onto the page.  And what a world it is.  The detail and imagination of the author is something to behold.  During the many times that I have read this book, I have found something new to wonder at, to smile at, to laugh at, and get angry about.  If you have not read this book, or even if you have, read or visit it many more times, for there are nuggets within that you may have forgotten or missed, and they are worthy of many a visit.  Happy reading.

March Upcountry, By John Ringo

I was rapidly drawn into this story by the way the author presented the main character, a spoiled yet misunderstood prince whom you will love and hate at the same time.  The world on which they must battle their way through is reminiscent of the early days of our own, though our adventurers have a great advantage.  Without out giving anything further away, I will say that each of these characters will grab your attention, and the lands and natives will draw you into their world.  I hope that all enjoy this book as much as I.  Happy reading.

Fear Nothing, By Dean Koontz

Dean Koontz draws you into a world of darkness with a man who is perpetually forced to live in it.

I enjoyed the story line immensely as I turned the pages of this book.  I was submerged into the dark of the night as I followed the main character through the life which he is forced to live.  I found myself touched by the way the man turned adversity to an advantage and learned to live life on his terms.  The story is engaging in ways that surprised me in many ways.

Fear Nothing has become a much visited friend on my bookshelf, and I urge you to visit also.  I hope that you enjoy living the life of Christopher Snow as much as I did. Happy reading.

The Hobbit, By J.R.R. Tolkien

When I first read this book I was far too young to write any reviews. Now, though I have read it many times, I feel that I should page homage to this great story.

Tolkien has a way of putting you in the shoes of the characters of which he writes.  Each one gets its own special attention which readily draws you to each.  The plot, the environment, the world which he created has a way a snaring your attention without the fast past writing that are prominent in the world today.  Much like a leisurely stroll through the countryside, you will remain engrossed in this book from beginning to end.

If you haven't, indeed if you have, read this book, it is worthy of a visit.  Within a few chapters, you will move into the world of the hobbits, and you will leave your hat behind so that you may visit it again and again.  Happy reading.

Play Dead, By David Rosenfelt

The characters in this book will have rolling with laughter.  You are drawn into the world of a lawyer who takes on clients more as a hobby than out of necessity.  The characters are well developed and the story line is very entertaining, the writing has a great sense of timing and keeps you on your toes.  I would recommend this and all books of this series.  I hope that all enjoy this book as much as I. Shantaram: A Novel by Gregory David Roberts

This book drew me in from the first paragraph.  A fantastic world of pain and suffering.  Also a world of triumph and heroism.  The main character survives that which is beyond belief displaying a strength of mind and body reminiscent of that of the greatest action heroes.  The character development, the details of the various locations around the globe will pull you into his world.  You will live through each tragedy and triumph of every character.  It is only later that I realized that this tale was based on true events.  I would recommend this book to any and all who wish to bear witness to the power of the will of man.  Happy reading my friends and get this book.
